Because you are what you eat!!

It takes more than a killer wardrobe, a fabulous makeup application, and a good set of genes to keep you looking your best {though none of those hurt!}.  You must keep beauty coming from within!  Here are 10 ways to keep your hair and skin healthy via the right diet!



1.  Avoid processed foods – they aren’t digested as easily and can cause inflammation and break down your skin.

2. Drink 1/2 your body weight in water – Do you weigh 140lbs?  Then drink 70 oz of H20 a day!!

3. Make sure to incorporate healthy fats into your diet since your body can’t product them.  They keep you looking young and less wrinkly.  Try fatty ocean-sourced fish {salmon, albacore tuna, herring, anchovies, sardines} or walnuts, flaxseed, canola oil, olive oil, avocados, and cashews.

4. Eat foods rich in antioxidants {& vitamins A, C, E & selenium} Like tomatos, whole wheat pasta, olive oil, strawberries, blueberries.

5. Acne issues? Try limiting dairy products.. also avoid fried foods & white bread.

6. Candy and artificial sweeteners can add to red, dry, flaky skin so avoid those too!

7. Dark leafy greens {spinach, kale, swiss chard} are great for hair, so are legumes {kidney beans, lentils} – they’re a good source of protein, zinc and biotin.

8. Iron & B12 are necessary for a healthy scalp ~ and protein for growth.

9.  Zinc deficiencies can lead to hair loss.

10.  Avoid smoking!!!  Let’s put cancer aside, because clearly death isn’t enough for some people to kick the habit!  Smoking cigs cause premature wrinkles and leads to dry and damaged hair and skin.
